What Is the Relationship Between Nutrition and Skin Care?

"woman's face sorrounded by fruits"

Welcome to our website. If you’re a new visitor, we hope you’ll enjoy our skin care tips and advice. Today’s skin care question covers nutrition and skin care.

Nutrition is most definitely linked to the skin nourishment, its renewal and repair of the skin cells.

The skin is the largest organ. Studies have shown that vitamins A, C and E, amino acids and essential fatty acids are imperative for the synthesis of the three major components of the skin:

  1. collagen
  2. elastin
  3. glycosaminoglycans

Approximately 20% of the skin’s epidermis (top layer of the skin) can be reached by topical products. The rest is more thoroughly absorbed through healthy nutrition. Here’s a great tip: eating pomegranates can even increase the SPF of sunscreens. Nourishing your body with the right raw materials, such as raw fruits and vegetables, allows it to maintain a healthy water balance, stimulate new cell growth, and repair vital structures– including replenishing your skin.

Healthy skin is a reflection of overall wellness!
